Currently based in Tiohtià:ke / Montréal, Francisco Gonzalez-Rosas is a performance and new media artist born in Chile. Their creative research revolves around the constant mediation of reality as well as the way in which image-making is intermingled with contemporary life, technology and networked media.
In this context, performance becomes a generative device from where to approach the work at the studio rather than an end in itself. Within this framework, Francisco produces expanded video installations, soundscapes and video works that offer an intimate yet critical inquiry about technology, politics and their intersection with the body and body-like digital supplements.
He holds a Master in Fine Arts in Intermedia, from Concordia University, Montreal and a BA in Acting from Finis Terrae University, Santiago, Chile. His work has been presented internationally.
